If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?
James 2: 15-16
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
John 6: 35
As Christians, but as Methodists in particular, we believe in the centrality and indispensability of missions. To feed the hungry, clothe the naked, welcome the stranger, and visit the sick as commanded by Jesus is the expression of our faith. We seek to be a community of believers who puts our faith into action by being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community and beyond.
While we know that meeting the physical needs of people can never surpass the importance of sharing with them the eternal spiritual nourishment offered through Jesus, we believe that to meet the needs of those in our community and beyond is to do the will of our Father in Heaven.
Doing life together requires doing missions together. We seek to be a congregation that grows together with a passion for the Gospel that carries us beyond the walls of our church.
