God is the one, true, living, and eternal god. God exists as three persons in perfect trinity: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. All persons of the Trinity are of one, eternal, and coequal substance.
The Bible is the inspired word of God, is infallible in matters of faith and practice, and is the exclusive source of all Christian doctrine. We hold to the Wesleyan tradition of the primacy of scripture interpreted by the church through reason, tradition, and experience.
In the beginning, after creating all things, God created man in his own image to exist in perfect communion with himself. The first man and woman committed willful sin and fell out of perfect relationship with God. This first act of transgression caused all succeeding generations of mankind to be born into a state of sin.
God’s hatred for sin required that his wrath be satisfied. However, being rich in mercy, God poured out his wrath not on the head of his people, but on the head of his only son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is both fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life but chose to suffer for our sins. He was crucified, and after three days, he physically resurrected from the grave. He then ascended into heaven and now reigns at the right hand of God the Father.
Salvation is the unmerited favor of God offered to undeserving sinners. God’s grace, accepted through faith, is the only means of salvation from sin and death. No person ever has been nor ever will be saved by works of any kind.
The Christian life is one of joyful obedience to God's commandments, not as a means of salvation, but as an expression of love and gratitude toward God for his mercy.
Christ will return and fully restore all of creation to himself. We anxiously anticipate that day. In the meantime, the Holy Spirit is given for the conviction of sinners, the perfection of the saints, and the aiding of the Church in its mission to make disciples of all nations.
