Community Garden & Flower Ministry
Missional
The Community Garden is a mission of Trenton Methodist Church created to help feed the hungry in our community with healthy, sustainably grown vegetables. Recently, the garden has been expanded to include fresh-grown flowers used to beautify our church and bring joy to those in our congregation and community that are shut-in or receiving medical treatment.
Communal
As the name indicates, the Community Garden is truly communal. Through the ministry of the Community Garden, our church has been blessed by the creation of collaborative partnerships with a number of local organizations including Orange Grove Center, the Tri-State Food Pantry, and the Dade County School System.
Biblical
Most importantly, the Community Garden is a ministry rooted not only in soil but in God's word. We as a church take seriously Jesus' command to feed the hungry and we seek to do so through the community garden.
